Piano Showroom - ARCH 381
Golden proportions coalesce into musical geometries.
By studying the musical ratios that dictate musical composition and their correlation with the mechanical geometries of the piano, I was able to distill and translate their mathematical essence, the golden ratio, into architectural form.

The exterior screen permits community engagement while establishing a musical, experiential rhythm.
Upon entry into the showroom, proportioned exterior screening reinforces rhythm through the interplay of light and shadow.

The second floor serves as a practice space, public and private.

On the third floor lies a semi formal performance space, its acoustic paneling echoing the established "golden curve."

The roof deck features a sound garden, its pipes capturing resonant frequencies from the practice rooms below to broadcast to building inhabitants and community members beyond.
